They are caught in the Cadiz area, in Andalucia (Southern Spain). Before turning it into a gourmet tinned fish, they clean the mackerel fillets, which are uniform in size and neatly arranged in the package. The fillets are whitish-gray with no strange colors indicating product alteration. They have the characteristic aroma and flavor of bluefish. The texture is smooth and compact and the liquid in the package is fluid and uniform.

 

Is canned mackerel good for you?

Mackerel, known in Spanish "Caballa", is a traditional food from Spain and one of the bluefish species particularly rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Specifically, it contains significant amounts of EPA and DHA fats, which are beneficial for cardiovascular health. Regarding its nutritional properties, mackerel is a delicious bluefish rich in vitamins (such as vitamin D and E) and minerals (such as magnesium, iron, potassium, and selenium).

 

How to eat canned Mackerel?

We suggest a simple, healthy, and delicious recipe with canned mackerel. Boil small potatoes and let them cool in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Then, dress them with extra virgin olive oil, Sherry vinegar, and salt. Add the mackerel on top and sprinkle some chopped parsley. You can also add fresh onion. Serve with some crackers Picos Camperos and a cold beer.
