What are cockles found?

Cockles, in Spanish "berberechos" are small, edible shellfish found in coastal waters. They are commonly found in sandy or muddy seabeds in estuaries and coastal areas around the world. In Europe, particularly in Spain, cockles are popular in seafood dishes and can be harvested from intertidal zones. They are often sold fresh, canned, or preserved in brine.

 

How to eat Berberechos?

Pair it with some potato chips and a cold beer for an authentic Spanish tapa. We recommend adding a few drops of lemon juice and/or a bit of mayonnaise.
