Although officially established in 1978, the roots of Sucesores de Hermanos López go back to 1845, when the family began cultivating olives on a modest plot of land—less than one hectare—at the foot of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park in Andalusia. Over the course of six generations, that small olive grove evolved into one of the most respected family-owned Spanish olive oil producers in the region.

Today, the original olive mill built in 1918 by Antonio López Ortiz has been fully renovated to incorporate a state-of-the-art ecological continuous system that eliminates olive mill wastewater. This innovation reflects the company’s deep commitment to sustainability and the production of top-quality extra virgin olive oils.

The aroma of Morellana Picuda is an intense fruity scent of fresh green olives, offering remarkable complexity and harmony. It features fruity notes of apple and banana, with a pronounced green almond presence. On the palate, it opens with a very sweet entry—typical of the Picuda variety—revealing green almond and green wheat notes at the front. As it moves to the back of the palate, flavors of green banana, apple, tomato plant, and artichoke emerge. Bitterness is nearly imperceptible, with a very light peppery finish.

This oil pairs beautifully with arugula salads, oven-roasted artichokes, and grilled meats when looking for a slightly spicy flavor.
