Although officially established in 1978, the roots of Sucesores de Hermanos López go back to 1845, when the family began cultivating olives on a modest plot of land—less than one hectare—at the foot of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park in Andalusia. Over the course of six generations, that small olive grove evolved into one of the most respected family-owned Spanish olive oil producers in the region.

Today, the original olive mill built in 1918 by Antonio López Ortiz has been fully renovated to incorporate a state-of-the-art ecological continuous system that eliminates olive mill wastewater.
